So I attached my desk key and my SecureID fob to my work badge with zip ties. Fucking brilliant, I know. So this is more of a question for y’all, not a real post. What’s the most ghetto thing you’ve done with zip ties, duct tape, Popsicle sticks, etc?
Tell you mine. My fog lights in my old car were held in by 4 zip ties.

I already told you about this, but for all your faithful readers…
Just yesterday Katie’s car window fell inside the door so Kevin and I tried to fix it. After figuring out the mechanism/cable that holds the window up was broken and we couldn’t fix it without ordering a new part we decided to try a few workarounds.
The final solution (which is working great so far) was to roll up some heavy-duty corrugated cardboard really tight and wrap it in duct tape. Then we put the window up and jammed the cardboard under the glass inside the door (then repeated a second time for extra support). Replaced the inside panel and you can’t even tell it’s broken…unless you try to roll the window down.
coat hangers are wonderful muffler brackets
under Dwayne’s recommendation I went and bought 500 zip ties: http://www.flickr.com/photos/soulposition/2786416027/
I’ve seen zipties used on dirt bike tire when you get a flat, wrap a few around the tire and rim to hold the tire to the rim, I would classify this as more of a survival technique than anything.
since I can’t claim that, I would have to say shoe laces or a belt. not sure which is more ghetto. they do go together if you have to use both at the same time.
i’ve got a ziptie patching the hole in my backpack’s side cargo pouch.
a section of coat hanger has been securing my ‘power window and mirror adjustment console’ in my car for a while now since one hot day when i went to put the window up and the hot-glue failed (because of heat, no less) and the plate with the switches on it fell down behind my door panel.
I use duct tape to keep the condoms on my jimmy jam.
