R.I.P. Randy Pausch 1960-2008

Quote: “I mean, the metaphor I’ve used is … somebody’s going to push my family off a cliff pretty soon, and I won’t be there to catch them. And that breaks my heart. But I have some time to sew some nets to cushion the fall. So, I can curl up in a ball and cry, or I can get to work on the nets.”

This is truly saddening news.
I heard about it on Slashdot
ABC News
His Wikipedia Page

he’s probably best known for his “Last Lecture” that became a youtube phenomenon. Here’s a link, bookmark it, watch it when you have time. It’s over an hour long, so I won’t bother embedding it.

Also, he has a book entitled “The Last Lecture” I bought it and haven’t read it…actually, I was waiting until he passed before reading it. Kind of morbid I know…

Man, it was inevitable with the type of cancer that he had, but wow, he really made the most of his life during the time that he had. He’s truly an inspiration.

ABC has a nice montage of clips concerning Randy:
